Free Demo: You can download the the Custom Financial Reporter programs, at no cost, by clicking on the links listed below. The demo programs are fully functional except that you are limited to entering a period ending date of 05/31 or 06/30. If you don't have Microsoft Access 2000-2007, you will need the Access Runtime engine which is available further down this page at no cost.
The download file includes sample financial statement format workbooks (Excel files) and row name assignments for some of the QuickBooks sample companies. You should be able to produce presentation quality statements for these ample companies without any changes or modifications. Version 4's statement format file is named Format1.xls and it works the US sample service based business (Larry's Landscaping), the US sample product based business (Rock Castle Construction) and the Canadian QuickBooks sample company (Mountain Sports Equipment). Version 6's statement format files are named "FormatByClass Sample Service Based Business.xls" and "FormatByClass Sample Law Firm.xls" They work with the sample companies for Larry's Landscaping & Garden Supply and Law Firm respectively. Version 8's statement format files are named "FormatByClass US Sample Service Based Business.xls" and "FormatByClass Canadian Sample Company.xls" They work with the sample companies for Larry's Landscaping & Garden Supply and Premier Hockey School respectively. You can also test the system against any other QuickBooks company at the dates noted above but after transferring the data to Excel, you will need to assign each account in the Trial Balance sheet a "row name" which matches a row name in one of the financial format sheets. Row name assignments are saved in the Reporter and have to be entered only once per company. You can open the sample workbook (Format1.xls) in Excel and save it under a different name before transferring data to it using the reporter so that you can have customized workbooks for specific companies. NOTE TO UP-GRADERS: If you upgrade from version 6 to version 8, you can transfer the current Row Name Assignments to version 8 as follows 1. Open version 6 and click View>Saved Row Name Assignments and click the "Export Name Assignments" button at the bottom of the screen. 2. Copy the ExportedNameAssigments.xls file from the version 6 folder to the version 8 folder. 3. Open version 8 and click View>Saved Row Name Assignments and click the "Import Name Assignments" button at the bottom of the screen.
