Overview
Introduction:
The Intercompany Transfer Utility (ITU) can easily transfer Intercompany charges from a Parent company to its Subsidiaries. With a few mouse clicks, ITU will export Intercompany charges from the Parent's QuickBooks file and and import them into each Subsidiaries QuickBooks file.
ITU automatically opens and closes each Subsidiary's QuickBooks file and post the charges to the appropriate expense account with an offset to the subsidiaries intercompany account. ITU can transfer charges to an unlimited number of subsidiaries.
If the subsidiaries are not on the same local network as the Parent, ITU can create and email a file of Intercompany charges to each subsidiary. This file can then be imported into the subsidiaries QuickBooks file with a few mouse clicks using a free copy or our XML Importer program.
To use ITU, you code checks, bills, journal entries etc. to the subsidiaries intercompany account on the Parents books. To identify which expense account these charges are to be coded to when imported into the subsidiaries books, you enter the expense account name in the "Customer:Job" field on the check, bill or journal entry. So if you have the following on the Parents books.

ITU will imported it into the subsidiary as follow.

The only change in coding needed to use ITU is to enter the subsidiaries expense account the in the Customer:Job field with one preceding character such as a "z". Using the preceding "z" moves the "subsidiary expense accounts" to the bottom of the Customer:Job list in the Parents QuickBooks file.
System Requirements:
1. Pro or higher versions of QuickBooks 2005 or later or Enterprise Solutions 5 or later. See the "How to Buy" page for more information.
2. Microsoft Access 2000 to 2013 (32 bit) or the free Microsoft Access Runtime engine which can be downloaded from the "How to Buy" page.
3. XP, Win 7, Win 8, Win 10.
